Metabolism is a very misunderstood topic. I’m sure you’ve had or overheard a conversation along the lines of…
Person A (who is physically bigger, to Person B who is smaller): “oh you’re so lucky you’ve got a super fast metabolism!”. Or perhaps somebody struggling with weight loss, who believes their ‘slow metabolism’ is the problem.
You may even have that skinny friend who never seems to put on weight.
Wanna know how to boost your metabolism?
Gain weight! YES, GAIN WEIGHT!
You see, often the wrong questions are asked.
Weight gain boosts metabolism, because there’s more of you to move around, so metabolism is actually scaled proportionally to your size.
The major difference lies in NEAT.
This is your subconscious movement. So that friend who always remains thin, on closer inspection you may notice they move a lot, fidget around and possibly takes loads of daily steps.
NEAT, or subconscious movement is often where the key differences in people lie. People actually burn more calories than they realise from all the non-exercise activity that they do.

Truth is, unless you’ve been medically diagnosed, metabolism isn’t something you need to worry about. Control what you can!
